Fall Cycle Grants Program Deadlines for the FY 2024-2025 Available

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs has released guidelines and deadline schedules for the fiscal year 2024-2025 fall cycle of arts and cultural grants programs available to Miami-Dade County based nonprofit cultural groups. Guidelines containing information regarding eligibility requirements, funding requests and program criteria can be downloaded at www.miamidadearts.org by clicking GRANTS / GRANTS FOR ORGANIZATIONS. Grant guidelines can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634 or via email at culture@miamidade.gov.

Court Ruling Denying the Request for a Rehearing

On April 12, 2024, the Appellate Division of the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit denied the opposing counsel’s motion for a rehearing, leaving in place its ruling in favor of Miami-Dade County, granting the County’s appeal regarding the Coconut Grove Playhouse. To recap, Miami-Dade County filed a brief to overturn the City of Miami Planning and Zoning Appeals Board’s unsupported and erroneous decision to grant an appeal stopping the County’s approval of a waiver.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m., the 2024 Serving the Arts Awards will be held at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium, 2901 West Flagler Street. The awards ceremony will celebrate 27 cultural leaders and organizations for their continued commitment to advancing arts and culture in Miami-Dade County. This year, the inaugural Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Legacy in Arts Award Honoree is cultural leader Rosie Gordon-Wallace, President and Curator of the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator.
