Inclusive Training Instructions for Summer 2026

To meet the SAS-C grantee inclusion training requirement, please ensure that at least one (1) camp coordinator or counselor completes this training. This training will be especially beneficial to newer staff members of your organization.
At a Glance:
• Deadline: July 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM
• Required Participants: At least one (1) camp coordinator or counselor
• Required for All Grantees: Step 2
• Additional Requirement: Step 3 is only required for individuals who DID NOT attend the in-person Kevin Spencer workshop held in January 2026 at the Moss Center
• Upload Certificates To: SAS-C Final Report → Uploads: Support Documents


 STEP 1. CREATE A TRUST ACADEMY ACCOUNT (SKIP THIS STEP IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT AND GO TO STEP 2)

Visit https://collabornation.net/register/thechildrenstrust to create an account

• Complete the form with your name, email, and password

• Check the “I’m not a robot” box, and agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy

• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Create Account

• Select the third option: “You are independent of any agency and are attending training offered by The Children’s Trust: General Public.”

• Provide any additional required information


STEP 2. COMPLETE THE CHILDREN’S TRUST – TRUST ACADEMY REQUIRED ONLINE COURSES AND THE HEALTH CONCERNS AND EMERGENCY ACTION PLANS

*IMPORTANT*

At least 1 representative from every funded organization must complete Step 2.

• If at least one representative from your organization attended the in-person Dr. Kevin Spencer workshop in January 2026 at the Dennis C. Moss Center, your organization's training requirements are complete after Step 2.

• If no representative from your organization attended the in-person workshop, at least one representative must also complete Step 3.

1. Managing Challenging Behaviors (K–5)

Navigate to:
Course Catalog → Show Categories → Youth Development → Managing Challenging Behaviors (K–5)

2. Words Matter: Language, Culture & Respect in Disability

Navigate to:
Course Catalog → Show Categories → Including Children with Disabilities → Words Matter: Language, Culture & Respect in Disability

3. Increasing Engagement in Your Youth Development Program

Navigate to:
Course Catalog → Show Categories → Youth Development → Increasing Engagement in Your Youth Development Program

4. Health Concerns and Emergency Action Plans

Complete the following:

• Read: Food Allergies, Health Concerns, and Emergency Action Plans
• Watch: How to Use an EpiPen (Video)


STEP 3: ADDITIONAL INCLUSION MODULES 

Required only for organizations that did not have at least one representative attend the in-person Dr. Kevin Spencer workshop in January 2026 at the Moss Center. Step 3 includes (1) Universal Design by Beth Gordon, (2) Understanding Disability to Foster More Inclusive Summer Programs by Phillip Collazo, and (3) the Post-Assessment Quiz.
