A quarterly program which provides support to significant cultural and/or special events, including sports activities and television/film origination projects that promote Miami-Dade County’s appeal as a tourist destination. Activities must be able to stimulate tourism and have significant media impact for Miami-Dade County.

FUNDING FOR INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS

Dance Miami Choreographer’s (DMC) Program

The program provides non-matching awards of $10,000 on a competitive basis to nurture the artistic development of Miami-Dade County-based professional choreographers for the creation of new work in all dance forms, including modern dance, ballet, and folk. Local choreographers, who have an established body of work, are invited to submit work samples for review by a national panel for selection. Staff consultation deadline is March 10, 2022.

Offered in partnership with FUNDarte, the Artist Access (ART) Grants Program is designed to assist practicing, professional artists in any medium or discipline residing in Miami-Dade County pursue opportunities that will advance their practice and careers in demonstrable ways.
Eligible opportunities include artistic professional development and skill-building opportunities, as well as financial offset of equipment purchase and studio rental. Applications will consider how the potential, timeliness, and impact of the opportunity(ies) will forward the artist’s career.

Art in Public Places Program
MSC Miami Cruise Terminal at PortMiami Artist Call

Eligibility: Artists based in the United States
Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County Seaport-Port Miami, MSC Cruises, and Arquitectonica request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal AA/AAA at PortMiami. The project is located on the north-eastside of Dodge Island. The MSC Miami Cruise Terminal is located at PortMiami’s most visible location and will be the last terminal viewed by every cruise ship departing PortMiami and the first terminal viewed by every cruise ship returning to PortMiami. The total project budget is $2.8 million, with multiple commissions envisioned. Expertise / experience in time-based media is encouraged. Call To Artists: Exhibition Proposals

Eligibility: Professional visual artists based in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties.
MIA Galleries invites South Florida visual artists to submit a proposal for a temporary exhibition at Miami International Airport. Selected proposals will have an average exhibition period of three months on display and scheduled to open between September 2022 and November 2024.
Artists may submit a proposal to one or two of the following opportunities. Only one application per opportunity will be accepted.
