To assist our cultural community through this public health crisis, the Department of Cultural Affairs is extending the courtesy and technical review deadlines for the following grant programs:

International Cultural Partnerships (ICP) Grant Program

The ICP Grant Panel meeting date has NOT changed and will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 as previously scheduled. (meeting details will follow).

As a reminder, the timeline for the grant review process remains on schedule. Staff is committed to ensure that summer panel reviews are completed and proper approvals are obtained in time to forward the recommendations to the Mayor and Board of County Commissioners for final approval.

Terminal K Parking Garage - PortMiami

Project Budget:  $485,000
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in the United States

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and PortMiami request qualifications from professional artists and/or artist led teams to commission an external artwork for Terminal K Parking Garage at PortMiami. For full details click here.

Project Budget: $465,000 *2-4 commissions are envisioned *Construction credits for integrated artworks may enhance the total project budget.
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in South Florida

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County Department of Public Housing and Community Development with partners Related Urban and Modis Architects request qualifications from professional artists and/or artist teams to commission artworks for the River Parc campus, incorporating the new construction of two housing facilities, Brisas Del Rio and The Gallery at River Parc, site work for the campus, and the construction of a linear park and riverwalk. COVID-19 Financial Impact Assessment Tools
Survey Deadline: April 17, 2020

The Department of Cultural Affairs has launched a two-part tool kit in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic: the COVID-19 Financial Impact Tracker (CO-FIT) and the COVID-19 Survey of Impact on Miami-Dade County's Cultural Community (CO-SIC). The survey collects data on revenue losses, jobs affected and increased expenses attributable to COVID-19 on a monthly basis. National Endowment for the Arts
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Grants Program
DEADLINE: April 22, 2020 11:59 PM

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) just released the CARES Act Guidelines for grants to arts organizations to preserve artistic and administrative jobs and to cover facilities costs, such as rent and utilities. Awards will fund nonprofit arts organizations across the country to help these entities and their employees endure the economic hardships caused by the forced closure of their operations due to the spread of COVID-19. There is a quick turn-around on the application process with requests due on April 22, 2020.

This program will be carried out through one-time grants to eligible nonprofit organizations to support:
• Salary support, full or partial, for one or more positions that are critical to an organization’s artistic mission.
• Fees for artists and/or contractual personnel to maintain or expand the period during which such persons would be engaged.
• Facilities costs such as rent and utilities.

Culture Shock Miami launches cultural “Online Experiences”

The Department of Cultural Affairs’ Culture Shock Miami program remains committed to developing young audiences and finding innovative ways to make the arts accessible to teens and young adults. Recently added to CultureShockMiami.com is Online Experiences, a curated list of virtual tours and exhibitions, online performances, and on-demand resources being made available to its audience and Miami-Dade County residents. The program seeks additional cultural content to share online with its audience. It is a free service to the public. Cultural organizations can submit information, free of charge via the submission form at CultureShockMiami.com.

MAMP Lab 3 – Leveraging Virtual Arts
April 28, 2020 – 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Virtual arts experiences are keeping the arts alive during COVID-19. Attend the virtual MAMP Lab 3 to learn how to engage and inspire your audience with standout digital experiences during social distancing. Take a deep dive into how to reach new arts enthusiasts, grow your outreach and increase and increase visibility with memorable speakers, enhanced Q & A and group discussion. All Kids Included online gallery features artwork submitted for its student art competition

The Department has launched the new All Kids Included Online Art Gallery featuring all student artwork submissions from the 2020 All Kids Included District Wide Student Art Competition. Artwork has been professionally photographed and posted on the online gallery for the public to enjoy. The artwork will be on display throughout the 2020-21 season.  The Competition is open to all Miami-Dade students in grades Pre-K-12. For more information on AKI programs click here.
