The Florida Department of State has issued guidelines for an African-American Cultural and Historical Grants program. Applications are available now. The deadline to apply to the State’s African-American Cultural and Historical Grants Program is Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 5:00 PM. This State of Florida grant opportunity is funded by the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program, as authorized by the Department of the Treasury, and administered by the Florida Division of Arts and Culture and Florida Division of Historical Resources.

African-American Cultural and Historical Grants Program
Application Deadline: Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

Award Amount: Up to $500,000 or up to $1,000,000

Program Description: The purpose of this grant program is to provide funding for construction projects at facilities in Florida that highlight the contributions, culture, or history of African-Americans. Priority shall be given for, but is not limited to, projects that:
• encourage the design or construction of a new facility or the renovation of an existing facility in an area with great cultural significance in which no facility exists;
• enhance the beauty or aesthetic value of facilities named for significant African-Americans; or,
• restore facilities on the National Register of Historic Places.

Applicant Eligibility: Eligible Applicant Organizations are either a public entity or an active Florida nonprofit or 501(c)(3).
