FY 2018-2019 Hannibal Cox, Jr. Cultural Grants Program Guidelines
The Hannibal Cox, Jr. (HCJ) Cultural Grants Program provides funding and technical assistance support to mid-sized semi-professional and professional arts, scientific and historical organizations with a year round presence in Miami-Dade County of presenting, performing or exhibiting a full season of cultural activities. Applicants to this program must have a least a three year consecutive track record of providing year round professional artistic programming and presentation in Miami-Dade County and an annual operating budget between $100,000 - $250,000, including in-kind support of no more than 25% of total revenues. Units of government are not eligible to not apply.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RETURNING APPLICANTS: Returning applicants will have the option to submit a completed application, including all required support materials, no later than one full calendar week in advance of the grant program’s published application deadline for a thorough “Courtesy Review” by the Program Administrator. Returning applicants who waive their option for a Courtesy Review and submit their applications by the grant program’s published deadline will receive a technical sufficiency review only. Applications received from first-time applicants by the grant program’s published application deadline will be reviewed by the Program Administrator and are exempt of meeting the program’s Courtesy Review deadline. As a component of the technical assistance offered through the HCJ Program, each grantee is able to access a subsidy for eligible expenses travel, consultant(s) and/or technical assistance. Funds may be applied to opportunities that directly enhance the artistic and/or administrative quality of the organization, such as conference travel, workshop attendance, board development consultants, etc. Carefully review the HCJ Travel/Consultant Assistance Program Guidelines and the HCJ Travel/Consultant Assistance Program Application and Final Report Form, and contact Gilda B.
